Every husky here chose to trust again.

Haven

Siberian huskies rescued from shelters and surrender lists across the Southwest — each one rehabilitated in a foster home, waiting for the right trail partner.

Our story
Origin StoryTucson, AZ · 2019

It started with one dog
at a gas station.

A woman named Rosa was filling her tank on I-10 when a man pulled up and asked if she wanted a dog. He was moving. Couldn't take the husky. The dog was in the back of a pickup with no water, panting in 104-degree heat. Rosa said yes before she could think about it.

She sent a photo to four friends. Within six hours, three of them had offered to foster. By the following weekend, they'd pulled three more huskies from the Pima County shelter's euthanasia list. The group text became a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet became Haven.

That first dog — the one from the gas station — is named Rojo. He lives with Rosa now. He sleeps on the cool tile by the sliding door, one eye open for roadrunners.

Luna

3 years

Found tied to a fence outside a Yuma Walmart with a note that just said "good dog." She was. She is. Luna took eleven days before she'd eat from a hand. Now she demands breakfast at 6am by sitting on your chest.

"Luna turned our quiet house loud again in the best possible way." — Marcus & Diane, Tucson

Become a Foster

You don't have to adopt to change a life. Foster families give huskies the time and space to remember what home feels like.

A spare room, a fenced yard, and two evening walks a week. That's the whole ask.

Atlas

6 years

A retired couple drove four hours after seeing Atlas's profile. They'd lost their shepherd three months earlier. Atlas walked through their front door and went straight to the sunny spot by the window — like he'd always known.

"He found his spot on day one. We think he found ours, too." — Carol & Don, Sedona
